(…) shares one beat · {…}x3 repeats three times. Blank = steady pulse.
Build your bass line
The pattern loops at your chosen BPM. Digits, - . ( ) { } and lowercase x are accepted; other characters are removed.
1–9: intensity, gentle to obnoxious. A sharp hit unless followed by -, which makes it buzz.
-: keep buzzing, one level softer, with extra sideways shake. More dashes keep fading to zero.
. or 0: a silent step.
(…): everything inside shares one beat, divided equally. Nested parentheses add no extra subdivision: (1(23)) is the same as (123).
{…}xN: repeat the section N times. N must be one digit, 0–9; 0 skips it. Braces can be nested. A digit after that single repeat count starts another beat.
1112-: three soft hits, a level-2 buzz, then a level-1 buzz.
{(11)2-}x3: two quick hits in one beat, then two beats of fading buzz. Repeat that three-beat section three times.
{{12}x2.}x3: repeat “1, 2, 1, 2, rest” three times.
Outside parentheses, every step takes a full beat. Inside, rests and buzzes take their equal share. Limits: 128 characters and 1024 expanded steps. While brackets are unfinished, the last valid pattern keeps playing.
The bright character is active now. A dim outline marks a rest or the gap after a hit. This controls visual motion, not audio.
Your device’s reduced-motion setting keeps the bounce off.
